My internet name is TCS, or Third Coast Selector. I am a musician, a visual artist, and a general tinkerer. As the name would suggest, I come from south of Houston, a town called Angleton.
I spend lots of time around town, but as a result of my hobbies, I tend to spend a lot of time on the computer.
I spent a lot of my free time playing games as a child. We had a Ps2, and a dell PC with thousands of ROMs. Playing through these worlds taught me so much about every aspect of active media, from music and storytelling, down to the most abstract elements of how to convey meaning. I consider video games to be the greatest artistic translator available to modern creators, and It's my dream to make something that will be that same tool for someone in the future.
I mainly work with music, but am currently animating a singing partner named FANG, and writing and developing a story called Tapes.
A selector, by its literal meaning, is someone who chooses, or selects musical tracks to be played at a dance event, most commonly a DJ set. This word,"selector", was coined by Jamaican disc jockeys in the early days of the dancehall movement. I LOVE Jamaican music, and produce a significant amount of jungle and dancehall-sounding tracks, so I decided to use that as part of my internet alias.
I am working my way through undergrad with plans for med school. In the meantime, I spend my hours making stuff for the internet to eat. Creatively, my vision is to captivate and inspire whoever comes across my work, and to help them see beauty, stories, and lessons in everything they go through.
